What do you find?

I'm a little spazy therefore I clean out my couch every month or so.
I think this obsession stems from one of the places I lived in college. When we moved in, the place was totally dirty (shocking for BYU approved housing, NOT!) So, we got to cleaning. We took the cushions off the couch to vacuum out the crumbs and found an entire donut (hard as a rock). How do you lose an entire donut in the couch and not realize it? Ga-ross
(Chrissy, do you remember that or am I completely nuts?)

Thankfully I found way less disgusting things in my couch last time I took the cushions off.

I think what you find in your couch says a lot about a family. What do you find?

A place for everything

This is my laundry room/ storage closet. I love, love, love having this space for all the extra stuff life requires.
I'm a big "A place for everything and everything in its place." person. I know, I'm a touch spazzy. Its one of my lovable qualities, right?
Lately things have been getting shoved in the laundry room instead of put in their place. So until yesterday my laundry looked like it'd been hit by a tornado.
I had finally had enough.
This is my new, improved and clean laundry/storage room. The picture totally doesn't do it justice. Now there is more floor space to walk, everything is off the washer/dryer and I can get to what I need without knocking other things onto the floor.

During this clean up I discovered that I was hoarding 3-ring binders. I have tons of empty ones of all sizes and colors. Anyone who knows me well will tell you I am NOT a keeper of "stuff". So I was amazed at the pile of 3-ring binders that formed on my countertop as I cleaned out my storage room.

This is them, 16, yes 16 three ring binders not being used yet taking up space in my storage room. Ridiculous!

I can't believe I took the dare!

My sister-in-law, Angie Homer, posted a picture of her messiest room and "double dog dared" us all to post a picture of ours, so here it is. This is our bedroom and I loathe it. I make no excuses other than I have terribly expensive taste and just haven't dropped $3000 for our bedroom, YET! I don't want it done half way and I don't want something I don't LOVE. I want it all or nothing at all. So this is how it is and I am fine with it until we 1) get out of debt and 2) move, one last time and settle (in a couple of years).

This post spurred me to look for a bed I actually like and I, kind of, found one http://www.bedroomfurnituremart.com/beds/poster-beds/sterlingpointeposterbed1.cfm

I like the fluted posts but not the arched headboard. I prefer no arch, just straight across with no holes or anything extra. Just simple!

Okay, I'm forwarding Angie's "double dog dare" on to everyone reading this. I officially dare you, double dog dare you, to post a picture of your ugliest and /or messiest room. Let see it!
